8 Endangered Animals of the world

Agree or not, we do not have the right to say that mother nature’s many resources are only for humans. We share a world with many species who also have a right to live freely. However, reckless usage of resources has hindered the existence of many brilliant species around the world. Some of them are discussed below:

  1. Tiger

Due to continuous deforestation and rampant poaching, the wildcats are thrown off their natural habitat and killed for their skin. It is said that there are not even a few thousand of these Asian cats left out in the wild now that only 7% of their natural habitat is left for them.

  1. The Polar Bear

They are the first sufferers of the global climatic change. If the climatic changes go on with the same rate, not even a century is left before there is a clean sweep of this species.

  1. Pacific Walrus

The Arctic seas are  a natural home to this species which is also another victim of climatic change. Just a couple of months ago, 200 dead walruses were spotted on Alaska’s northwest coast. This species solely depend on an iceberg for resting and defense systems. Now that the ice is melting at an alarming rate, the walrus too is disappearing.

  1. Magellanic Penguin

The threat to this species began from the oil spills in the oceans that first suffocated the penguins. It has also been speculated that the change in water currents as well as temperature raise due to oil spills is one of the causes for the death of Magellanic penguins.

  1. The Leatherback Turtle

One of the largest living reptiles and the largest turtle is suffering from the threat of extinction. These marine turtles accidentally get caught in the fishing fleets, which is partly the reason for their unwanted deaths. Besides that, the rising water temperature is also a major reason.

  1. The Bluefin Tuna

Seafoods like Sushi that people eat dearly is prepared from this large migratory fish found in the Mediterranean Sea. Due to the unfair fishing practices, this species is facing the serious threats of untimely extinction. The WWF needs to put a global ban (which it is not) on the trade of this fish to prevent further exploiting.

  1. Mountain Gorilla

With not even a thousand individuals living, the giant gorillas are facing poaching threats as well as a loss of natural habitat. However, restoration practices are going on to recreate the forest environment.

  1. The Monarch Butterfly

These migratory butterflies are suffering due to their disappearing reproductive habitats, which is because of continuous deforestation. The authorities of America and Mexico are jointly running various programs to reintroduce Butterfly reserves.

Some of these species have been affected due to the interference of the humans. For instance, wisconsin coyote hunting has has been a popular sport that has affected the species. It is time we act accordingly on such issues and keep a controlled, but free environment for the animals. After all, they too have a life in this world.
