DAVENPORT – An Iowa police officer was seriously hurt today while making arrest.
On Sunday, November 19, 2017 at approximately 5:13 AM, Davenport, Iowa Police responded to 400 E 12th St in reference to a burglary in progress to a residence. Officers confronted a subject inside of the residence where a physical altercation occurred. During the altercation an officer discharged their service weapon. The subject and both officers were injured. One officer was seriously injured and transported to the hospital. The name of the subject is not being released at this time.
The names of the two Police Officers involved in the incident are not being released at this time, out of courtesy of notification to their families first. As a Davenport Police Department protocol, the Scott County Sheriff’s Office was notified and will investigate the incident.
