DES MOINES – Two Iowa companies announced Friday they will add hundreds of jobs.
TPI Composites, Inc. said it plans to create 351 new jobs by opening a second manufacturing facility in Newton next year. The company currently manufactures wind turbine blades, but the new facility would manufacture bus bodies for electric-powered passenger buses. TPI has manufactured in Newton since 2008.
Deere & Co. said it plans to build a new facility in Urbandale to house its intelligent solutions group. The machinery company said it will create 31 jobs and keep 20 with the project.
Iowa Workforce Development also announced Friday the state’s unemployment rate in October dipped to its lowest level in nearly 17 years.
The rate decreased to 3 percent last month. That’s down from 3.6 percent in October 2016 and is the lowest level since January 2001. The biggest growth last month occurred in manufacturing. That sector has added 6,000 jobs in the last year.
Nationally, the unemployment rate dropped to 4.1 percent last month.

What??? It means the same thing. And, you are wrong. They get the figures from the unemployment TAX that employers pay balanced against the amount paid out.
Discrimination is widespread across northern Iowa whether it be due to age, J walking, groping, etc. etc. All these places touting they’re hiring and in reality they’re not. It’s a sham to prop up the company in saying we’re successful and prospering like no other. Many apply and few are hired. Which means crime will rise. People need to work.
If President Obama was still in office, the righties would be crying that the stats aren’t true. They would say most of the unemployed quit looking for jobs and that the rate is more like 10%.
If Obama was still in office the unemployment rate wouldn’t be the lowest in nearly 17 years. And most of the obamaites would be on welfare and food stamps.
President Obama left Trump an unemployment rate that was well below the historical norm. When Obama took office the jobless rate was 7.8 percent and rising.

Wages are already up 4% under Trump. Business is starting to thrive. That means more of everything. When people are working instead of drawing off the taxpayer there are more taxes being paid. Stores are selling more. People buy new homes and cars. Even the Democrats are going to have to admit things are picking up.
