Globe’s Skipper sends questions to Matt Marquardt by mistake – but he will be answered

BACKGROUND ON THIS MATTER FROM MATT MARQUARDT WITH ANSWER TO QUESTION 1:

The Globe Gazette employs John Skipper as a reporter who writes opinion and so-called “factual” stories. Sometimes, the line is blurry. Sometimes, I have to wonder how the Globe’s newsroom continues to function.

Mr. Skipper sent an email to me on Friday, Nov 17, 2017 at 11:34 AM. It listed 6 questions that he appeared to be working on – but were not his final draft.

Then, one minute later at 11:35 AM, Mr. Skipper sent an email that stated, “Whoops. Sent.”

So, there’s your answer.

However, I told Mr. Skipper I would answer his questions one at a time, before the “due date” for his “story” (likely a smear job) on my campaign.  A campaign I am certain he and his boss David Mayberry desperately want to fail.  They have played some tricks on me already in this campaign, initially refusing me an opportunity to buy advertising, using the fake name “BEUHNER” in a story about me and then putting “WRONG NAME” over my photo and correct name.

Mr. Skipper and Mr. Mayberry are part of the machine I am campaigning against; my opponent is merely the name on the ballot.

QUESTION #1 FROM JOHN SKIPPER TO MATT MARQUARDT:

What is the biggest change you would like to see in city government – and what can you do as a councilman to change it?

ANSWER:

It strikes me that you clearly sent these questions in error and by mistake to me.  You wrote “Whoops. Sent” in a follow-up email 1 minute after the questions were sent.  Maybe you should admit that error, and explain yourself if the other three candidates are getting different questions than I got.  Am I being singled out?  Maybe you should also explain your long friendship and business partnership with my opponent.  Don’t you think that would be fair?  Is it true John Jaszewski owes you money?  The biggest change I can ask for as merely one voice on a council of 6 members is to fully represent Ward 4 and all of Mason City professionally and ethically and set an example for future representatives.  Ward 4 has suffered from abominable “leadership” for years – I will change that immediately for the better.

PS: You have allowed my opponent TWO opinion letters in your newspaper since the campaign started.  I will also be sending TWO LETTERS and expect EQUAL COVERAGE.

Absolutely right on Matt!
Who can stand that son of a bull shitter. Big fat shit in his mouth liar.
But then when people are against someone ,( you in this case)they will blow by the person they like even with major issues, as apparent with Skipper.

Don’t forget , there are legal moves to make on the globe and Skipper
If they keep this up, and they have for years, so plenty of evidence. How great will that be!!!!

He’s going to win with flying colors

Wow. Eight lines of Trump-like attacking the question asker, then five lines of an answer that doesn’t say anything except, “I will do my job.”

We cancelled our ‘GLOBE’ subscription !

I miss Peter Children’s opinion letters to the editor. Peter is a very wise man indeed. We need to listen and take heed of what our experienced older business men have to say. Peter is absolutely right about that skank of a hotel/mall deal. Unfortunately, Mason City’s corruption is far and wide. I believe the bigger picture is that the fairgrounds will not be with us much longer, as the money hungry dirty dealers/swindlers have their eyes on prime real estate.
Please keep posting Peter! I believe you should have a weekly spot or whatever you wish.

Don’t you wish! No, he’s just gathering/adjusting his sails.

The Globe has long been a “joke” of a news service.
I cannot support anything said by employees from that payroll whether it be full or part time.
I applaud anyone that stands against the Globe, Des Moines Reg, or any “rag” in the area that follows the mantra of the owners of the rag

You had better be careful because they will use every means possible to keep your answers out of the paper. Or else they will change the way they are written.

You had better watch out. They will try to find a way to keep from printing your rebuttal. Something like to long or offensive comments.

They will probably misplace your letters or say they are to long or some other B.S. thing to keep from printing them.

Do are you giving equal time to your opponent?

Sunday, noon, no attacks yet, anonymous etc. must still be sleeping.
