MASON CITY – A convicted domestic abuser wanted since May has turned himself in to face justice.
The incident involving Cory Lee Craig took place Saturday, December 17, 2016 in Mason City. A victim fled the scene where Craig had inflicted physical harm and refused to let the victim leave. Mason City police were called and later apprehended Craig. He was charged with felony domestic assault due to the fact he has been charged at least three times earlier with that offense. Due to his alleged act of confining the victim and refusing to allow the victim to leave, he was charged with false imprisonment. Records show Craig entered a not guilty plea, posted $1,000 bond on January 4 and was released from the county jail.
However, he failed to appear when required, leading to arrests warrants.
Craig is also wanted on harassment charges and child support matters and faces at least two theft charges, records show.
