Gov. Reynolds to present volunteer award to Mason City bank, tour Prestage office

First Citizen’s Bank

MASON CITY – Governor Kim Reynolds will present a volunteer award to a Mason City bank this week, then tour the Prestage hog kill plant office the next day.

On Friday, September 29, 2017 at noon, Governor Kim Reynolds will present the Give Back Iowa Award to First Citizens Bank, located at 2601 4th St. SW in Mason City. Give Back Iowa is an eight week challenge designed to engage Iowans in employer supported volunteering, both during and outside of the workday. The 2017 Give Back Iowa Challenge had 56 participating organizations—representing over 56,450 employees in Iowa—that logged over 59,000 volunteer hours. According to the current Iowa volunteer rate per hour from the Independent Sector, the value of these hours exceeds $1.3 million. Winners were selected in three categories based on employer size and the highest average number of volunteer hours per employee. First Citizens won the “medium” award.

The next day, Gov. Reynolds and Lt. Gov. Gregg will hold the “Building a Better Iowa: Economy” event and tour Prestage Foods of Iowa, 216 North Commercial Avenue in Eagle Grove. The event begins at 4 PM.
