I know who this kid is and he has been doing some not so good things all over town. I’m sure he needs it all to catch up to him to learn a lesson. Funny he finally got caught.

This happens more often than we hear about. I know of a kid who got arrested for shoplifting at 14. When the father was called to come and get him, he told the cops to keep him for at least 8 hours, but the cops said they couldn’t hold a juvenile. My stepdaughter came home drunk from the Surf at 16 and we called the cops but they said they couldn’t do anything. We also hauled her to the PD when we heard she had been with a group of “wanted” kids that scattered when caught drinking in CL park. Yes. Both of these kids have turned out to be exemplary adults. It takes tough love to turn them around instead of shielding them.

Well, now I can fess up, but I sure am not going to tell you who I am.

When I was 13 I was a little shit raising hell in Midland Heights. I busted out some windows and when my Dad got done beating my ass he called Sheriff Jerry Allen. I spent a night in the county jail. No paper work, no judge, no permanent record. Just some tough love from my Dad and great Sheriff. I never got in anymore trouble, ever!

To bad they can’t and won’t do that today!

I sure hope this young lad can turn his life around.

I salute that mother and her son for taking responsibility for his actions. I predict he will put this episode behind him and become a better person.

Way to go – that’s what American values are all about – woman you made my day and in the long run saved your family – unlike the slime that is using the working class to make themselves rich – elected crooks not officials.

I hope someone in your community steps forwards and extends a thank you to the young man and family for coming forward and accepting responsibility of his actions. And hopefully guide this youth to be a better person and steer him in the right direction.

We are all one community. Not “yours” or mine but ours, no matter where we live.

you’re wrong about that. wouldn’t want to be included with the community living in mason city, a lot of negative, non-progressives live there

You go mom!!!!!! Way to make him face his actions!!

Everybody should know who he is. If my neighbor is a thief I want to know.

Let’s return to the days of the Scarlet Letter and make Allen happy

Talking out of your ass again, anonymous. The Scarlet Letter has nothing to do with knowing that your neighbor might be a thief.

When did I call somebody a name???

I can tell you who it is! And he lives right down the street from said address.

identity being protected by state law??? his pic was flashed all over the news and printed in paper and on here, duh

So,now everyone knows he is a sneak thief. That is as it should be.
