Charles City man previously guilty of sex abuse of teen to be re-tried August 1

CHARLES CITY – A man who has run for school board twice in Charles City, then was found guilty of sexually abusing a teen culminating in a prison sentence will go back on trial beginning August 1.

A Floyd county jury returned a guilty verdict in April of 2016 against 61-year-old Douglas K. Lindaman of Charles City; he was running for school board for the second time when he was arrested. The jury had worked for only a few hours before bringing back the verdict. His crime against a 17-year-old boy took place in spring of 2011. He was sent to prison for up to 10 years.

Lindaman – a convicted sex offender due to felony sex crimes he committed in the 1980’s – was later granted a new trial by the Iowa Supreme Court.

Lindaman aims to represent himself with assistance from other legal professionals. His trial date is scheduled for August 1.

He is a Ex lawyer who knows all the tricks. He should be locked in a room with Bubba and see how he likes that.

I have to agree. can someone explain to me how this makes sense? I think this man knows exactly what he is doing. The worst part is he is making his victim relive this experience. What a sick man!

This guy should not be allowed to represent himself again. That’s the entire reason why he won his appeal in the first place. What the hell is wrong with our judges?
