Accused domestic abuser allegedly spits on jailers again

MASON CITY – A Mason City man already facing numerous charges who was accused last month of spitting on jailers allegedly did the deed again, as he refused to go to court.

Officers in the Cerro Gordo county jail tried to get King Allah James to go to court on the afternoon of May 18. However, NIT is told by Sheriff Kevin Pals “he refused to go to court and while putting him back in his cell he spit on our employee.” As a result, James was charged with Assault on Persons in Certain Occupations, a serious misdemeanor.

James, age 26, is currently jailed for felony domestic abuse and numerous no-contact order violations. Allegedly, on the afternoon of April 22, James committed the offense of assault on a jailer. He spit on a Cerro Gordo County Jailer while in custody at the Cerro Gordo County Jail twice after refusing to obey orders from the jailer. The jailer was hit in the face by the spit and on the shirt. Court records show that on May 16, James entered motions to the court for a “notice of insanity defense and intoxicants or drugs.”

Just the day before his latest alleged crime, James allegedly attacked a jailer on May 17. He was charged with Assault on Persons in Certain Occupations for that incident.

James will be due in court this week to answer on some of his charges.
