Fort Dodge police investigate armed robbery

FORT DODGE – A man was approached and allegedly robbed by three men who displayed a weapon in Fort Dodge.

On Thursday evening, May 18, at approximately 6:51 PM, the Webster County Communications Center received information in reference to a male who had been assaulted. Officers with the Fort Dodge Police Department responded and met with a male victim. Upon further investigation, it was determined that the male was assaulted while walking in the 800 block of South 18th Street. During the assault, the victim also had items taken from his person. Information gathered during the investigation from both the victim and witnesses described the suspects as three black males. In addition, at least one of the suspects is alleged to have displayed a weapon. The victim sustained minor injuries during this incident and was treated and released from Unity Point – Trinity Regional Medical Center the same evening.

The Fort Dodge Police Department’s Patrol and Criminal Investigations Division are continuing to investigate this incident.
