BRASELTON, Ga. – NIACC freshman Courtney Tusler shot a 50-44 – 94 Wednesday during the third day of the NJCAA Division I national golf tournament at the Chateau Elan Golf Club.
Tusler’s three-day total is 92-93-94 – 279.
“This has been a great week yet frustrating week for both Courtney and Brooke (Maasch),” NIACC coach Chris Frenz said, “because they really want to play well.
“The scores are not completely showing the whole story because honestly they’ve hit the ball as well as they’ve hit maybe all year. It’s just when a mistake is made it balloons the score and it’s hard to get birdies on and make up for those mistakes.”
Freshman Brooke Maasch shot a 56-48 – 104 on Wednesday for her best round of the tournament so far.
Maasch’s three-day total is 115-107-104 – 326.
The final day of the tournament is set for Thursday.
“I know I’ve said this all week long, but I really couldn’t ask for more of an effort from these two,” Frenz said. “It’s been a pleasure to watch them compete this week and they’ll give it all they’ve got to make it into the 80s and 90s on the last day of the championship.”
