Hamilton county burglary investigation leads to discovery of drug house

ZEARING, IOWA – Law enforcement in Hamilton county investigated a rural burglary which led them to the discovery of a house stocked with meth, heroin and other illegal items.

On May 17, 2017 a burglary was reported at a residence in Randall, Iowa, in rural Hamilton county. An investigation was initiated and conducted by the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office. Hamilton county deputies investigated the burglary and as a result, executed a search warrant on a residence in Zearing, Iowa.

Property stolen during the burglary in Randall was recovered at the residence in Zearing along with a quantity of Methamphetamine, Heroin and other drug paraphernalia.

As a result of this investigation, Samual A. Blatcher, 26, and Larean Margraeta Skogen-Walker, 37, of Zearing were taken into custody and are charged in Hamilton County with 3rd Degree Burglary, a Class D Felony.
The pair also faces drug charges in Story County. The investigation is remains ongoing.

The Hamilton County Sheriff’s was assisted by the Story County Sheriff’s Office.
