Enochs, Huntington sign with NCAA DI schools

MASON CITY – NIACC baseball players Connor Enochs and Ryan Huntington both signed national letter of intents Tuesday with NCAA Division I schools.

Enochs, who prepped at Des Moines East, signed with Southern Illinois-Edwardsville and Huntington inked with Grambling State University.

Southern Illinois-Edwardsville is a member of the Ohio Valley Conference and Grambling State is a member of the Southwestern Athletic Conference.

Former NIACC closer Danny Beizer is a junior at Grambling State this season.

Enochs and Huntington, both sophomores, are the second and third NIACC baseball players to sign with NCAA Division I programs. Sophomore Brandon Michie signed with Mercer University in the fall.
Enochs, a shortstop, is hitting .276 with 12 doubles, 43 runs scored and 35 RBIs. He hit .337 with four doubles in ICCAC games.

Enochs ranks eighth on NIACC’s career hit list with 128. He’s tied for fifth in career runs scored (107), third in career at-bats (438) and ranks eighth in career walks (65).

Huntington, a left-handed pitcher, is 4-3 with 47 strikeouts, 22 walks and a 5.52 earned run average. He is tied for ninth on the school’s career win list with nine and is tied for 12th on the career strikeout list with 74.
