IOWA FALLS – The NIACC baseball team swept Ellsworth in an ICCAC doubleheader on Friday.
The Trojans won the first game 15-6 and took the second game 17-7.
In the second game, freshman Bryce Ball was 6 for 7 with four doubles and a home run. Sophomore Matt Schwarz was 4 for 6 with three home runs.
Mitch Neunborn and Joey Werner also added home runs for the Trojans in the second game.
The six hits by Ball was the most in a single game in the Travis Hergert era, which began in 203. Ball also had a five-hit game earlier this season.
The three home runs by Schwarz was the second time in the Hergert era that a player hit three home runs in a game. Austin LaDoux hit three home runs in one game against DMACC last season.
NIACC wraps up the four-game series against Ellsworth Saturday in Iowa Falls.
