AMES – Two former Iowa State football stars signed free agent contracts with NFL teams this weekend.
Jomal Wiltz (CB) signed with the Philadelphia Eagles and Jhaustin Thomas (DE/DT) inked with the Indianapolis Colts.
Wiltz was named ISU’s top defensive player and was an honorable mention All-Big 12 pick in 2016. The Galena Park, Texas native started 11 of 12 games, tying for the team lead in interceptions (2) and ranking second on the team in passes defended (11).
He ended his two-year Cyclone career with 90 tackles and 17 passed defended.
Thomas, a native of Atlanta, Ga., was a second team All-Big 12 selection in 2016, leading the team in TFL (9.5). He also recorded 23 tackles and 3.0 sacks.
