Northern Iowa man caught with meth during traffic stop

RURAL DICKINSON COUNTY – A traffic stop leads to the arrest of a Northern Iowa an for meth possession.

On March 23, 2017 at around 10:34 PM, the Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office stopped a vehicle near the intersection of Walleye Drive and 260th Avenue. The vehicle was stopped for having expired registration that also did not match the vehicle. The vehicle was being operated by Mark Johnson, age 45 of Curlew, IA.
Johnson was placed under arrest for an outstanding warrant out of Minnesota. Upon further investigation, methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia were located in the vehicle.

Johnson was charged with:
Possession of a Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine) – Class D Felony
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Simple Misdemeanor

The DCSO was assisted by Bob’s Repair and Tow of Spirit Lake.
