BROOKINGS, S.D. – NIACC’s Wal Khat set a school record in the 800-meter run with his eighth-place finish at the South Dakota State University Indoor Classic on Saturday.
Khat ran the 800 in a time of 1 minutes, 53.06 seconds to break Imad Amenzou’s one-year old school record in the 800.
Amenzou held the old mark of 1:54.83 also at the SDSU Indoor Classic on Feb. 13, 2016.
Khat also placed 19th in the 1,000 on Friday night in a time of 2:36.70.
The NIACC men’s and women’s track and field teams return to action Feb. 17-18 at the NJCAA Region XI indoor championships in Storm Lake.
