Greene teen critically hurt in accident this weekend near Waverly

WAVERLY – A Greene teen was critically injured in an auto accident this weekend near Waverly.

On Saturday, February 4, 2017 at 1:46 PM, the Bremer County Sheriff’s Office responded to a two vehicle accident with injuries at the intersection of Hwy 218 and Hwy 3. A 2001 Saturn driven by Andrew Corwin, age 17 of Greene, was southbound on the Highway 218 off-ramp. Corwin failed to yield from the stop sign and was hit broadside by a 2015 GMC Acadia traveling westbound on Hwy 3, driven by Ashley Ross, age 36 of Clarksville.

As a result of the collision, Corwin was airlifted to Covenant Medical Center and his condition is critical. Ross sustained minor injury.

The Bremer County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Waverly Ambulance, Waverly Fire Department, and Aircare. The accident investigation is pending.
