Potentially dangerous North Iowa sex offender nabbed in Minnesota

MASON CITY – A man on the state’s sex offender list for as many as four crimes who has been wanted for a year was nabbed by law enforcement in the Twin Cities and brought here to face charges.

Records show that 33-year-old Justin Lee Moor has been wanted on an arrest warrant out of Cerro Gordo county since January of 2016 but could not be located. More has been on the state’s sex offender registry for four crimes, three in Mitchell county and one in Cerro Gordo county. His victims have all been 13 years of age or younger.

AS NIT has reported previously, Moor has violated the registry by not living where he is supposed to. Moor previously claimed to live at the Ashley Inn Motel in Mason City while actually residing at other locations in Mason City and Clear Lake.

However, in January Moor was arrested in Minnesota’s Hennepin county and later transported to the Cerro Gordo county jail. He remains held there on $45,000 bond as he awaits a court hearing.

Moor was sent to prison in 2006 for felony burglary out of Chickasaw county. He spent just over a year of his 5-year prison term in a stat prison in Fort Dodge before he was released.
