Convicted murderer dies in Iowa prison

CORALVILLE – A man convicted of murdering his wife died in an Iowa prison.

Jackie Paul Glascock, Sr., a 73-year-old an inmate assigned to the Iowa Medical and Classification Center Infirmary Care Unit in Coralville, died Thursday, January 19, 2017. Glascock died of natural causes from Respiratory Failure due to Chronic Pneumonia.

Glascock was serving a fifty-year sentence from Appanoose County for Murder Second Degree. This sentence began on June 26, 2012 after a judge found hime guilty of murdering his wife, Doretta.

According to KTVO, Glascock was accused of killing his wife after police found Doretta dead in the couple’s rural Cincinnati, Iowa home in July of 2009. Jackie Glascock was found at the scene suffering from a self-inflicted wound, the radio station reported. He had trouble communicating during his trial.
