PLYMOUTH – A man listed as the Plymouth Fire Chief has been arrested Thursday morning after what appears to be a violent, drunk driving episode.
According to details of the incident, Cerro Gordo deputies responded to a damage call at a Plymouth residence at 2:46 AM Thursday morning, December 8.
Jason M. Schmitt, age 43 of Plymouth, allegedly “knowingly caused more than $1,000 in damage when he intentionally punched the rear window out of his wife’s car, kicked a dent in the side of her vehicle, smashed her wooden chest, and smashed her television. The total damage is estimated to be $1,600.”
After the investigation by deputies was complete, Schmitt was charged with felony D second-degree criminal mischief and operating while under the influence. He was arrested and taken to the county jail, booked and soon released, pending a court date.
The city of Plymouth lists Jason Schmitt as the Fire Chief.
Nice guy. I hope he gets the help he needs to make better choices.
Just thinking, that your first sentence is probably enough of a comment on the article. I’m wondering why you would have to drag another poster into the story and criticize him, when he didn’t have anything to do with the incident.
A classy act from a public servant, see ya.
