MASON CITY – Police stopped a suspected drunk driver Monday evening in Mason City.
Mason City police were dispatched for a driving complaint. An officer located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop at 19th Street and South Federal Avenue.
During the stop and investigation, the driver was found to have an open container of alcohol and was suspected of of being under the influence. As a result, 41-year-old Wayne E. Morrissey of Des Moines was arrested for operating while intoxicated and open container of alcohol. He was taken to the county jail and later released, pending a court date.
