DES MOINES – It was announced this week that Governor Terry Branstad is getting involved in the Donald Trump campaign for president in an “unofficial role.”
“Gov. Branstad was asked to advise Mr. Trump in an unofficial role on agricultural and rural issues,” Branstad spokesman Ben Hammes said in a statement. “He will be offering his advice on important issues to Iowa, none more important than renewable fuels.”
The Governor joins his son, Eric Branstad, in the campaign. Eric is the director of Trump’s Iowa campaign.
Late last month, Terry Branstad appeared at a Donal Trump rally in Des Moines and delivered a fiery speech in his favor, and lashed out the Democratic nominee, Hillary Clinton.
