Mason City man jailed in connection to domestic assault case

MASON CITY – A Mason City man convicted of domestic abuse earlier this year is accused of violating his probation in that case.

Jeremy Walter Rose, age 26, pleaded guilty to first-offense domestic abuse assault in March of this year. He had been arrested by Mason City police back in November of 2015 after an alleged incident on October 30. After his guilty plea, Rose was sentenced to 365 days in jail with all but two days suspended and two years of probation. He was also ordered to pay a total of $825.31 in fines and court fees.

However, on July 27, Rose was accused of violating his probation. He was booked into the county jail Saturday night, July 30 and held on $2,000 bond as he awaits a hearing in September.

Rose, convicted three times for drunk driving and once for felony forgery, pleaded guilty earlier this year to fifth-degree theft after an arrest by Mason City police. He was ordered to pay $374.75 in fines and court fees.
