FOREST CITY – A Forest City man was jailed for what police say is at least his second domestic assault this year.
Justin Lee Bartling, age 34 of Forest City was arrested and charged with second-offense domestic assault on June 27. The arrest was a result of a report of a domestic disturbance at a residence on West M Street.
On July 25, Bartling pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of first-offense domestic abuse assault. He was sent to jail for four days and ordered to pay $433.50 in fines and court fees. He’s in jail now, serving is sentence.
Battling’s legal entanglements don’t end there. He was arrested on March 4 of this year by the Winnebago county sheriff’s office after another alleged domestic assault. He was charged with first-offense domestic abuse assault in that incident. Attorney’s were moving to dismiss the charge ahead of a trial scheduled for July 25, and a no-contact order had earlier been lifted by a judge.
