MASON CITY – A Mason City man who already spent a month in jail earlier this year is back behind bars for another 2 weeks.
Brandon Ben Ward, age 32, was booked into the Cerro Gordo county jail Sunday afternoon to begin serving a 14 day sentence. He was found guilty for a second time of violating a no-contact order in connection to a 2015 domestic assault.
Ward was sentenced by Judge Karen Salic earlier this year after another public intoxication arrest. He was ordered to serve 30 days in jail and pay court costs of $208.00.
Ward has been involved in multiple nefarious activities. Most notably, he was tasered by Clear Lake police when he refused to cooperate; he interfered with Mason City police in the Wendy’s parking lot; he participated in a booze-fueled joy ride; and perhaps most disturbingly, was with two other known criminals, pushing a baby in a stroller down a steep hill when they ran from police while drunk.
