MINNEAPOLIS – The Minneapolis Police Department has arrested an adult male in connection to the July 8th homicide at the intersection of Penn Avenue North and Lowry Avenue North.
Chris Maurice Welch, age 31 has been arrested in the homicide of Le’Vonte King Jason Jones, age 2. The arrested party has been booked into the Hennepin County Adult Detention Center on Probable Cause Murder.
The booking photo of the individual is being held for investigative purposes. No further information is available until the County Attorney makes a charging decision.
This arrest is in connection to a shooting earlier this month. Shortly before 11:30 AM July 8, 2016, Minneapolis Police responded to a report of gun shots heard at the intersection of Penn Avenue North and Lowry Avenue North.
Once officers arrived on scene, they were notified that two victims with gunshot wounds were at North Memorial Medical Center. A 2 year old who was struck by gunfire died at the hospital while a 15 month old suffered a non-life threatening gunshot wound.
The Minneapolis Police Department put 8 investigators on this case. According to preliminary information gathered in the investigation, the incident appeared to be the result of gunfire between individuals known to each other. Members of the MPD Community Support Team were at the scene and the hospital to help people with their grief and facilitate dialogue.

They are in actuality a terrorist group, and figure some collateral damage is the cost of being a terrorist group.
They are not a terrorist group. They just want the same rights as you and I have. How many times have you been pulled over just driving around? Happens to black men all the time.

These drug dealers don’t give a rats ass who they kill. Unfortunately he will get a trial at tax payers expense. After the trial, he should be immediately be put to death. Maybe the guy from clear lake would like to defend him.
