People in cars should wear helmets but it’s a choice you can still make in Iowa , it’s not up to the controlers. Live to Ride Ride to Live. R.I.P.

Amen Lloyd….. but pony up and ride at your own risk. Sign a waiver releasing the rest of us for paying your lifetime of medical care and rehab when you get splattered.

When you get Splattered. You should have signed it when you were aborted.

He was a kind man. A little overbearing at times but meant well. This has struck my heart tremendously. I have questions that will be better left unanswered like 230 am in a rain storm?? I know my biker friends wouldn’t ride that late or in a rain storm. It doesn’t matter why or how. He has a beautiful daughter that has to finish growing up without her dad. A wonderful women that just a few weeks ago was United in marriage. Just Tragic. Prayers for all the family and friends

1+

When are they going to force the helmet law? You riders need to understand the importance of helmets I’ll give you an example: go to your fridge and grab a egg. Now go out side and drop that egg on the cement.
I’d like to hear from some of you riders why you don’t wear a helmet? Is it because you think you’ll look uncool wearing one? I see many riders with no helmet and in my opinion they look stupid. The first thing to go is your head and if your lucky enough to survive but in a vegetarian state is it worth it? Is it fair to your family that they’ll have to take care of you for the rest of your life because you didn’t want to look uncool? Is it fair that your family and friends have to visit your grave because you didn’t want to look uncool? I could go on and on but I think you guys get my point. Common sense people!

How about you not be rude and be sad for the loss. We enforce education on kids doesn’t mean they all will be smart. Jason was a great man who had a terrible accident. Mourn the loss. Don’t be a dick

How am I being rude? I’m talking about all riders not just this particular accident. People just don’t like hearing the truth sometimes and someone needs to say it. I did. There is no excuse not to put that helmet on your head.

not the time nor the place to say what you are saying. please go to any local motorcycle shop and protest in front of it.

The issue is your opinion is not the truth.

Prayers to the family

Leave your real name, and take your public flogging. Now isn’t the time and you don’t get the hint do you?

You sound intelligent I bet you ride without a helmet.

I’m sure you’re an upstanding citizen who has never done anything that isn’t deemed safe

Never said I was perfect nobody is. If you don’t like hearing the truth than your at the wrong news site.

The issue is your opinion is not the truth.
prayers to the family

It was his choice to not wear a helmet. We all have that freedom. Stop being a libtard dumocrat telling us all how we have to live. Take your rant somewhere else.

RIP, brother.

Wear a helmet. We have a seatbelt law we need a helmet law.

I’m sure he wasn’t drunk and going 80 when he crashed at 2:30 in the morning

I agree. It just makes plain zero sense to require seat belts but not helmets. And I think this certainly is both the time and place to point that out, along with condolences to the family for their tragic loss.

Strange lookin Harley!

Thoughts and prayers go out to the family.

As stated below Jason had not been drinking or under the influence of any substance. A very much loved person. Who within the last 2 weeks married the love of his life. My heart goes out to his family

HEAR-HE…HEAR-HE….. Pee Pee has Poo Poo for brains!

This is my family please don’t make comments If you don’t know out of respect for my family! The rain made it hard and by the turn to niacc the road curves into where there is a triangular median…due to weather he had to follow white line to see road and he clipped the median there!! So prayers would be nice instead of judgment!! Thank you!!!

No matter the cause, a young man has lost his life and as such should be shown respect.
A family is grieving and their wishes should be respected.
I am sorry for your loss & may your family find some solace during this trying time.
May Jason rest in peace, for he was taken too soon in life.

that sucks last time seen was riding with sober brothers.

Get the facts straight before you go running your mouth cuz I knew him personally!!!! So if you don’t know what really caused him to wreck, then please shut your damn mouths!!!!

Another tragic “donor cycle” fatality.

FYI..NOT EVERYONE OUT AFTER MIDNIGHT IS DRUNK. DON’T ASSUME THINGS YOU DON’T KNOW.

Definition of probably: insofar as seems reasonably true, factual, or to be expected.

How many people out riding at 2:25 am heading into Mason City from Rudd/Nora Springs probably were at the bars? 1?

I sure wouldn’t be out riding after dark – too many deer and other things.

I’m sorry, allow me to correct my grammar….DON’T MAKE PRESUMPTIONS ABOUT THINGS YOU DONT KNOW ABOUT. I know the person that passed and KNOW he had not been drinking and this was a very unfortunate accident. And FYI… not everyone who has spent an evening at a bar has been drinking. I spend enough time in a bar and do not drink at all and will be out well past 2:25a making sure people get home safe. Finally, just because you won’t get on a bike a after dark does not mean that the rest of the world cant.

This is very sad. I’m trying to visualize the area. Is there a median between the main lanes and the right turn lane? That seems strange unless it is an exit. I rarely drive that road so it may have been changed again.

The turn lane for eastbound traffic (going north into NIACC)has/had a median.

Sad tears of grief stream down my face at the thought of this young person being taken in such a tragic and horribly accidental manner.
