CLARION, IOWA – Two teens took plea deals in a football team hazing case after accusations of sexual assault.
Two 18-year-old men who formerly played high school football for Clarion Goldfield High School stood charged with third-degree sexual abuse took plea deals. Allegedly, Seth Pille, Michael Schaffer and a third juvenile player had assaulted a younger teammate during last fall’s football season.
Both Pille and Schaffer entered guilty pleas to the lesser charge of assault. Pille was given a 10 day suspended jail sentence and ordered to pay $147.75 in fines and court fees, along with informal probation, records show. Schaffer was given a deferred judgement with one year of probation.
