Domestic abuser sent to jail for 20 days

MASON CITY – A Mason City man convicted of domestic abuse last year has been sent to jail for violating his probation.

An emergency call was made Thursday, April 9, 2015 at about 11:14 AM to report a domestic incident at 637 9th Street NE. Upon arrival, police officers conducted an investigation, which led to the arrest of Tony Dale Hull on a charge of aggravated domestic abuse assault involving strangulation. A few weeks later, Hull pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of domestic assault causing injury or mental illness. He was put on probation for a year, sent to jail for two days and ordered to pay $777.25 in fines and court fees.

However, Hull, age 27, was found guilty of violating his probation earlier this month, after a violation was reported within his 1-year probationary period. As a result, Hull was ordered to go to jail for 20 days. His probation was extended for another year. He’s in the county jail now, serving his sentence.
