NEW YORK – With Hillary Clinton collecting tens of millions of dollars in campaign contributions, Republican presidential candidate and billionaire Donald Trump is finally asking for cash.
“Donate Today To Help Make America Great Again!” the Trump campaign blustered Wednesday.
Trump reminded the public that he “did a good thing during the Republican primary. I didn’t ask my supporters for a single dime. Not one.”
All that changed, though, when he asked for cash Wednesday.
“I’m asking every single one of my supporters to invest in the future of America -whether it’s $1,000 or $1. Your donation will show the liberals, the professional pundits, and the Washington establishment that this campaign is about you.”
Trump claims to have bankrolled his own campaign and says he “ran the most efficient, most successful Presidential race in the history of our great country!”
Trump says funding his own campaign so far is “that kind of leadership and budgetary tenacity that I’m going to bring to the office of President of the United States.”
But, Hillary Clinton has raised millions of dollars and has a massive war chest, ready to do battle in the general election in which she and Trump appear ready to face off in.
“We have to beat Crooked Hillary,” Trump declared. “We can’t let her back into the White House ever again.
“I need your help to do so.”
