Nashua man riding bike dies after he is struck by driver

logo-iowa-state-patrolNASHUA, IOWA – A man riding a bicycle outside Nashua has died after he was struck by a driver in a pickup truck.

According to the Iowa State Patrol, the accident was in Floyd county at 300th Street and county road T64.

Just before noon, Wednesday June 8, a 1999 Chevy pickup truck driven by 50-year-old Todd Schriever of Marble Rock was southbound on T64 when he collided with a southbound bicycle. The person on the bike, 69-year-old Robert Philips of Nashua was injured in the accident and taken by ambulance to the Floyd county hospital. He later died as a result of the collision.

The accident is now under investigation.
