FAYETTE COUNTY, IOWA – Law enforcement in Fayette county in northeast Iowa says high winds damages hog confinements and other structures there.
The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office said Thursday that the damage was somewhat extensive in that county from storms that blew through the previous evening.
“As storms rolled through Fayette County high winds caused damage in several locations,” Sheriff Marty Fisher said in a statement.
Roofs were damaged and blown off several barns and a few hog confinements. A barn was also blown over all in the Arlington, Iowa area. A Shed fire was reported near Maynard during the storm and was believed to be caused by lightening but not confirmed. Several power lines were also reported down near the Wadena and Fayette Areas.
No injuries were reported.
Also, in Osage, police said “clean-up is ongoing after last night’s storms. Priorities for City crews are to remove trees from streets and sidewalks.”
There was also hail damage to cars reported in Manly. Alliant Energy reported power outages as well.
