Waterloo police investigate theft of dozens of Nike Air Jordan shoes

WATERLOO – Cops in Waterloo caught two alleged thiefs munching on pancakes after they stole dozens of Nike Air Jordan shoes.

On April 2, 2016 at about 9:50 PM, Waterloo Patrol Officers were sent to a burglary report. The victim had reported dozens of Nike Air Jordan shoes taken from the residence, valuing in the $1,000’s of dollars. During the investigation, Officers learned that David Sailor (age 30 of Waterloo) and Michael Carter (age 24 of Waterloo) were involved.

A search warrant was executed at 1306 West Donald Apartment #311. During the search of the apartment, Violent Crimes Apprehension Team Officers located several dozen pairs of Air Jordan shoes. Sailor and Carter were later located at the International House of Pancakes in Waterloo, Iowa. They were placed under arrest and transported to the station. During the investigation, several fake $100 bills were located on Carter’s person.

David Sailor was charged with Burglary 3rd (D Felony), Theft 2nd (D Felony), and Possession of Marijuana 3rd Offense (Aggravated). Michael Carter was charged with Burglary 3rd (D Felony), Theft 2nd (D Felony), Possession of Marijuana 3rd Offense (Aggravated), and 8 counts of Forgery (D-Felony). Both subjects were transported to the Black Hawk County Jail where they were booked in on the above mentioned charges.

This case was investigated by Waterloo Patrol 2nd Watch and the Violent Crimes Apprehension Team.
