Cops arrest hysterical woman at troubled rental house

MASON CITY – Police were called to a rental house in Mason City for a disturbance and took a woman to jail as a result.

A second disorderly disturbance was reported February 22 before 10 PM at 246 8th Street SE. Reportedly, a woman was yelling and screaming outside of the residence. Police officers arrived and as a result, they arrested Tameka Renee Leggette, who lives there. She was taken to jail on a charge of disorderly conduct. The next day, she pleaded guilty to that charge and was ordered to pay courts $127.50 in fines and fees.  About two hours earlier, police were called to the house for a disturbance, for what police called “roommate issues”.

This is at least the third arrest since January of persons connected to this rental house.

A law enforcement investigation was conducted at 246 8th Street SE – owned by Cynthia and James Pike – on or around January 13, 2016. As a part of that investigation, Mark D. Hurn, age 43 of Chicago, was arrested on a charge of possession with intent to deliver crack cocaine. He had a court date set for January 22 and was held on a U.S. Marshall’s detainer on no bond. Hurn has now been moved to the Linn county jail in Cedar Rapids as the state charges against him were dropped.

Three days later, on January 16 just before midnight, law enforcement arrested Kiera Lashay Bernice Shackleford, age 25, for second offense drunk driving at 5th Street SE and South Massachusetts Avenue. She is listed as living at the rental house in Mason City that was part of the crack cocaine arrest of Hurn. She was soon released from jail as she now awaits a May 3 jury trial.

I’d like to give Kiera head!

Democrap funded -busing welfare people from large metro areas to small communities such as mason city because the welfare money in those towns were depleted – good for slum landlords and the city slickers (local government) wants those federal freebie dollars spent in Masonic city – could care less about the locals who have lived here for generations — GO TRUMP – clean up our corrupt local and DC slime pit.

They all need to go back to Chicago except Kiera! Cute and what a nice smile!

Beauty is only skin deep, and ugly is to the bone…

Why isn’t the nuisance property ordinance being used here??

These types of rentals are all over town. The best way to get them under control is house inspection. These people usually trash the place out in little or no time.

We need to have get tougher on landlords and rental property. Why should I invest money into keeping up my home just to have people with no respect for anyone or anything else move in on the block.

the federal government already did crack down on landlords and property owners.problem is it was for the exact opposite of what you want landlords and property owners to do.

Is this house considered a nuisance property, the neighbors probably think so.
