WASHINGTON, D.C. – Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley lashed out today at the safety of marijuana, citing a study.
According to Senator Grassley, a study in a “prestigious” journal “contradicts the growing perception, especially among teen-agers, that marijuana use is harmless”. The study says “cumulative lifetime exposure to marijuana remained significantly associated with worse verbal memory.”
He didn’t name the journal nor the name of the study.
“This study follows one from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention showing that people who are addicted to marijuana are three times more likely to be addicted to heroin,” Senator Grassley explained. “Deaths from heroin and prescription opioid overdoses have increased dramatically in recent years”.
Senator Grassley pushes for strong enforcement of federal anti-drug laws as chairman of the Judiciary Committee and the Caucus on International Narcotics Control. He has served in the Congress since 1975 and became a senator in 1981. He is up for re-election this year.

Iowa Code 321.436 states that Every motor vehicle shall at all times be equipped with a muffler in good working order and in constant operation to prevent excessive or unusual noise and annoying smoke, and no person shall use a muffler cutout, bypass or similar device upon a motor vehicle on a highway.
I don’t see how any more clear it can be stated by both LVS and the Iowa Code.
Furthermore, I want an apology from both LVS and Buzz Crumcutter and an admission by them that they acknowledge they are in the wrong and that Buzz deliberately attacks and bullies me because he disagrees with the Iowa Code 321.436 Mufflers, Prevention of Noise and is fearful of my efforts to have the law enforced by police. And that LVS once supported my efforts to quiet the streets but reversed himself when he realized I was pro-marijuana reform.

What you are doing Larry is attempting to use a separate topic of debate to cancel out the one at hand. LVS has stated that he believes people should follow the laws on the books and lobby to have the laws changed if they don’t like them. This is a view that I share. I find it peculiar how he conveniently omits the Loud Tailpipe / Muffler laws from his own purported standards when it suits him. He knows this though, and for Buzz, LVS and others, they’d much rather continue the censorship game rather than admit to their impropriety and double standards. As far as pedophilia goes…again I’m asking people to follow the laws, and people were asking for pedophiles to be beaten to death and shot in the head with guns and that is not within the scope of sentencing guidelines. Buzz do you understand the Iowa Code 321.436 Mufflers, Prevention of Noise? You act as though that law doesn’t exist. Last time I checked, the State laws trump whatever city, or county laws or cultural habits may be in place. And yes, you are the main organizer behind the Harley Hog Riding Club or whatever its called. Now, you may be some other person using Buzz Crumcutter as a handle, but that’s not a level of distinction or clarity I’m required to meet. The Buzz Crumcutter I saw was actively promoting and recruiting Rider Club events.
I, also, would appreciate knowing what Prestigious Journals Sen. Grassley arrived at his decision from. If it is medical marijuana then it would be regulated. If you think it might shorten your life then listen. My daughter has triple negative breast cancer and they have given her 3 to 5 years and she is in a lot of pain. It is a very unique Cancer and I think it would help her. She is only 50 years old.

I am a United States Marine Corps combat veteran who suffers from ptsd, and bouts of intense and severe rage. I have been prescribed every narcotic available to the human race in order to help control my fits of rage. You want to talk about “brain dead” as you so eloquently put it try being medicated to a nearly comatose state. Would you like to know something more dangerous than the use of marijuana? Try a combat hardened U.S. Marine who occasionally finds himself in a “nothing to lose” state of mind. Many veterans, myself included would either be in a jail cell or six feet under earth if it wasn’t for the medicinal use of marijuana.

I am sorry to hear about your condition but am glad you have found something to help, I too have used from time to time to help relieve migraine headaches, something far less serious than you are dealing with, and think you should be able to get your relief without breaking the law. Nada-I disagree with you on some subjects but you are spot on with your comment. Guys like Grassley and LVS are from the generation that believe what they saw on the old “Reefer Madness” film from the 50’s. Marijuana is way way safer then Alcohol but the old guys just see what they were taught back in the day and will never see the truth for what it is. You have to take LVS’s, and Grassley’s, comments on this subject with a grain of salt just because of their age.
