MASON CITY – Remember to lock your car doors while you are in the store shopping, as evidently, there are individuals attempting to get inside them and possibly steal from you.
Mason City police report that on February 9, 2016, at noon, employees at Mills Fleet Farm and Target reported suspicious activity by a male and female. The couple were allegedly attempting to get into various vehicles parked in the parking lot. Police also said the pair was engaged in “some other activity which is still under investigation”.
The male, Eugene Sikora of Austin, Minnesota, was charged with Tampering with a Motor Vehicle and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. The female driver of their vehicle, Shelbie Garcia of Marshalltown, Iowa, was charged with Tampering with a Motor Vehicle, Operation without Registration, and No Insurance.
Both were jailed and remain there Wednesday on bond.

First of all i would sincerly like to apoligize for any and all negative illegal manners in which i conducted myself while living in the community of Mason City Iowa. My actions were very wrong and i am paying for them. So is my girlfriend Shelbie Garcia. We got lost in the world of Meth. We became iv users and were and always will be addicts. The difference between us and others is that were paying for our mistakes and were taking our story to our graves. Were not out snitching on people or hurting anyone for our consequences. Shelbie is facing 65 years in prison im facing 25. But the truth is we are truly sorry for our actions. We have both gotten sober and continue to be sober by the grace of god everyday.I wont nor will she blame others for what we did the fact is we did it we are owning it. Now just as god has forgivin us and we have both repented i as well as shelbie forgive all who are and maybe against us for any mean or hurtful things u have said, as a result of our wrong and illegal actions. Life is to short to go on hurting people. Ill do all i can for anyone that i can. I went to treatment in des moines iowa and was abused and discriminated on by the staff. I despite all the negative continue down my road to recovery. But its Only by and with the grace of God himself that im sober and not in that dark place i once was not so long ago. Thanks to all those that defended me through all this as truly im not a bad person, im just a person that made some very bad choices.
Mr sikora is a good man he got wrapped up in the world of meth. He is a college graduated godly helpful caring person he got mixed up with some bad ppl in mason city that led him into some dark places

Cool people got into bad situation, met the girl once. She was remorseful for the way her life ended up after 5 years of sobriety. Remember an addict is always an addict, she will pull through. She went 5 years, she will go further this time.
People need to mind their own business this Eugene sikora helped me pay for my child to get shoes and I did not know him. People need to know what they are talking about before they assume. Mason city made these people mad crazy with the drugs it has all over and they got sucked into the methenphetamine black hole and were lucky enough to crawl out before it was too late. Ive talked to these individuals and people still surprise and amaze me. God bless them.

Someone needs to clean Mason City up. I lived there my whole childhood and it was great. Seems to be slipping down the hill a lot. If there were more opportunities I would still be there raising my kids. I know all towns have problems but get rid of the meth heads such a hurtful drug. There is no reason for that.. Lock them up or run them out.

These thieves do this constantly. They trade stolen goods for drugs just like it was money. We had one that lived near us and they would come in every night with their vehicles full of stolen items.
Anyone that may have been out shopping yesterday before noon should double check for missing items or shopping bags. These people probably don’t even know if they have been stolen from yet. I heard the call go out and it sounded like they may be investigating items they believe to be recently stolen from cars. This is just like the people in the van from a few nights ago, caught with a whole van full of items they are trying to find owners of.
