MASON CITY – A convicted drug dealer wanted by police for weeks has turned himself in.
Dylan Joseph Lewis, age 21 of Mason City, turned himself in to the county jail after 4 AM on February 4. He was charged with delivery of controlled substance with intent to deliver marijuana, back in 2013. He had been arrested along with at least 13 other people on August 1, 2013 during a North Iowa Drug Task Force operation. In December, Lewis was accused of violating his probation in that case, and the Cerro Gordo county sheriff’s office announced that Lewis was wanted on a warrant.
Also at this time, Lewis is accused by Mason City police of felony willful injury, third-offense possession of marijuana and participating in a riot for a crime he allegedly committed back in October of 2015. He was arrested on December 1 on a warrant connected to that case and then posted $12,000 bond the next day. He was released from jail, and remained on the run until last week when he surrendered.
Lewis has entered a not guilty plea to these latest charges and awaits a jury trial on March 8. He remains jailed on $5,000 bond until then.
