Juvenile charged with pulling fire alarm at school

mason-city-schools-admin-bldg-spring-2012MASON CITY – A 10-year-old boy was charged with pulling a fire alarm at a Mason City school.

The incident occurred Friday morning at about 8:06 AM at Lincoln Intermediate School. Mason City police officers assisted the Mason City Fire Department with the fire call; there was apparently no fire to respond to, however.

As a result, a juvenile – 10-year-old Matthew Dean Simmer – was charged for pulling the fire alarm as a false alarm.

Police records show that the previous day, just after noon on October 1, officers received a call to John Adams Middle School for an out of control juvenile. Police dealt with 11-year-old Larry John Simmer in the incident, of the same home address as Matthew Dean Simmer.
