JEFFERSON CITY, MISSOURI – Missouri Attorney General Chris Koster released a report today concluding his office’s investigation into Planned Parenthood. The office launched its investigation following the July 2015 release of videos raising questions about Planned Parenthood’s practices in other states regarding the alleged unlawful sale of fetal tissue. Koster’s investigation examined in detail the tissue-handling practices of Planned Parenthood’s Missouri surgical facility and concluded there was no evidence that the facility engaged in unlawful activity.
The investigation focused on Reproductive Health Services of Planned Parenthood of the St. Louis Region and Southwest Missouri (PPSLR), the only abortion facility currently licensed in Missouri to perform surgical abortions. As part of its investigation, the office conducted multiple interviews with representatives from PPSLR and the pathology laboratory that examines fetal tissue for PPSLR as required by Missouri law. The office also reviewed thousands of pages of documents to inform its findings.
As part of its review, the Attorney General’s Office obtained documents for a representative 30-day period tracing the facility’s process for the disposal of fetal tissue, tracking the chain of custody from surgical procedure to incineration. The documents showed that after a procedure is complete, the tissue is placed into a leakproof, specially marked container and transported to the pathology lab for examination. When the lab completes its work, a waste-disposal company collects the tissue, takes it to the incinerator, and destroys it. Documents obtained by the Attorney General’s Office—including itemized invoices from the pathology lab charging Planned Parenthood for examination of tissue from each procedure and a certification from the disposal company verifying that the material has, in fact, been destroyed—confirm each step of this process. The investigation examined documents from all 317 separate abortions that occurred during the audited period, tracing each procedure from Planned Parenthood to the incinerator.
“The evidence reviewed by my investigators supports Planned Parenthood’s representation that fetal tissue is handled in accordance with Missouri law,” Koster said. “We have discovered no evidence whatsoever to suggest that Planned Parenthood’s St. Louis facility is selling fetal tissue.”
During Thursday’s hearing, Republicans successfully admitted a graphic abortion video, that a witness testified under oath was not even filmed inside a Planned Parenthood location, into the Congressional record as evidence against the women’s health organization.
And now there is a Planned Parenthood Supervisor whio says every bit of it is true and even more, they have been frauding Medicaid for years and she can prove it. You really should keep up if you are going to post stupid crap.

There are parts of Planned Parenthood that are good. They help with family planning and are accessible to low income women. Take away the abortion unless it is required to save the life of the mother or in cases of rape and keep the good stuff. That makes sense so it will probably never happen.
@Reality-You may be correct, but, that is easily solved. If they should do a illegal abortion operation both the person performing the operation and the mother should be prosecuted for murder. That would stop that in a hurry. They are taking a human life and that is murder.
How about prosecuting the father too? Often times, it is both people who want the abortion. How about anyone who counseled them to abort the fetus? Maybe newspaper articles that are pro-choice? Punish the editors/ owners. Those companies that make the instruments they use to perform the abortion? Better put those suckers behind bars too. When does it stop?

No one is “for abortion” what an idiotic thing to say. Easy and cheap access to contraceptives and real sex education have been proven to lower the rate of abortions. But republitards want to deny contraceptives and push abstinence only sex ed, which does not work. Just to affirm your observations… I remember that years ago Mason City was the place to go for a then illegal abortion. It was a cash only deal made with a whisper and a handshake, usually for around $500 and several local “health care professionals” were the providers. Generally the scheme involved a well know Hotelier who provided the room, overnight accommodations and a late check out the following day. His trusted head of housekeeping did the clean up and kept the secret for a small stipend. It was brutal and lots of money was made. It will become common practice again should the religious zealots have their way.

Nothing is wrong with abstinence. The problem is teaching abstinence based sex Ed. It doesn’t work, it doesn’t prevent unplanned pregnancies. people need real sex education and easy access to cheap contraceptives in order to reduce abortions. It’s the only way it will work.
Planned parenthood supplying contraceptives or sex education is alright in my book, even abortion if the health of the mother is at stake I can handle but the abortion just because they do not want a baby because they are too cheap or lazy to buy contraceptives is murder.

@Nada-why are you throwing me in on this. I am not a Catholic or Republican. As a matter of fact I have stated many times on here that I am not very religious at all. My wife is, but I am not. I have already stated that they should defund the criminal organization that kills baby’s and then sells the parts. If they want to keep doing what the are doing with other forms of birth control it is fine with me. Killing baby’s is not cool, it is murder.
