IRVING, TEXAS – A “naive accident” led to the arrest of a Texas high school freshman, police said, after he brought a home made clock to school Tuesday that a teacher thought looked like a bomb. Now, he’s invited to the White House.
The Irving, Texas Police Department handcuffed a mechanically-inclined 14-year-old Muslim boy after he showed off at school a clock he made at home. The teacher thought it looked like a bomb and called police, leading to his arrest.
At a press conference Wednesday, due to no evidence 9th grader Ahmed Mohamed meant harm, Irving police Chief Larry Boyd said the boy won’t face a charge of possessing a hoax bomb. The chief said the clock looked “suspicious” and said bringing the clock to school was a “naive accident”.
Wednesday, after a public backlash over the boy’s treatment, President Obama invited Ahmed to the White House.
“Cool clock, Ahmed,” President Barack Obama tweeted. “Want to bring it to the White House?”
Mr. Obama went on to say “We should inspire more kids like you to like science. It’s what makes America great.”
To top it off, the teen was invited to Facebook headquarters by Facebook owner Mark Zuckerberg.
“Having the skill and ambition to build something cool should lead to applause, not arrest. The future belongs to people like Ahmed,” Mr. Zuckerberg said Wednesday. “Ahmed, if you ever want to come by Facebook, I’d love to meet you.”

I don’t know what to believe anymore. I know White Fake Christians have dominated the landscape for a very long time. I also know they have extreme interest in maintaining their dominant status over all things cultural and economic, and would do about anything to uphold that control. Turning people into the police is a form of control and coercion. The police have a chance to prove they aren’t controlled by the fears of ignorant white people any longer.
If the administration/teachers really thought it was a bomb, why wasn’t the school evacuated and the bomb squad called? If I were a concerned member of the school staff that’s the first thing I would have done.
Also, this argument should be directed more towards how ridiculous zero-tolerance policies are in our schools, instead of yet another race issue. To be fair though, a lot of things indicate a bit of racial bias in this case.

Calvin R had the perfect reply to any argument that says this was S.O.P. for terrorists. If it was a bomb, why weren’t the precautions taken? The school wasn’t evacuated, the kid was allowed to stay in the office with his bomb while the police were coming, they didn’t shut down the school to see if there were other bombs. This was, as some have pointed out, an overreaction. As for the President Obama bashing, why? Just because he wanted to praise a kid who probably was scared out of his mind by this craziness? Lots of white kids-all kids really-are invited to the White House. Don’t be a hater just because you can. Let it go.
@Bodacious-You don’t seem to understand about Obama. It isn’t that he invited a scared Muslim child to the White House. It is that he ignores other children of America’s hero’s who have died. He promotes racial hatred and the killing of police by not supporting those we pay to protect us. He has caused this country to go back 50 years when it comes to race relations.
