Don’t forget the 47 vacation/sick days too. So in a school year she could be gone 25% of the time.

Based on the comments it appears to me the Mason City cheer leaders need a new cheer. How about:

Hey, hey, ho, ho,
Anita Micich must go.

Hmmm waaaay too much! Ridiculous and she knows it. Remember she changed the Name of ROOSEVELT to whatever it is now. HUGE mistake. She is a gross out.

So when are you uneducated mason city people going to take education seriously? This is what happens when you stay “stoopid” and let other people handle choices for you.

“So when are you uneducated mason city people going to take education seriously?”

Hmmm, I thought it was Mason City. Guess I’m not as educated as you are.

What is wrong with this picture?

Dr. Robert Shaner
Rochester MN Superintendent
12,893 Students
Base Salary 183K
Retirement 6.2K
Vacation/ sick days-25/12
One of the best school systems in the state

Dr. Anita Micich
Mason City IA Superintendent
3,916 Students
Pay Compensation (see above)
Ranked 267th out of 318 school districts in Iowa

But they want more and just take it. How do we stop them?

Does anyone have a
RAIL?

Do a search of Iowa School Super Salaries and the results will knock you to the floor. Even the smallest districts pay outrageous wages when calculated on a per pupil basis.

That being said, Micich is way over the top when compared to Superintendents from large districts. For example, her wages are 186k for a district serving 3,700 kids. The superintendent of Iowa City makes 187K with an enrollment of 12,000 students.

Anyone else find that insane?

As Albert Einstein once said -only 2 things are infinitive -1 is the universe and the 2nd is HUMAN STUPIDITY and I’m unsure of the 1st.

Do you think schools are over funded? Do you think we are over taxed?
34 new teachers hired, no additional enrollment, just additional funds from what KIMT reported

Now who has the bigger job? Govenor of Iowa or Supt of mason city schools???? How come the Govenor is only paid $140,000 a yr??

Wow…I don’t even have a kid in school. Makes me not want to pay my taxes. This is ludicrous. Is she really worth the pay plus all the other add ins (per diem, car allowance, etc)? I agree, cut her pay & divide up for the teachers that deserve it!

Oh Anita Marie, May we show the door to thee?

Although there are things here that I think are wrong ($37,000 tax-sheltered annuity), the rate Dr. Micich is paid is about par with superintendents in Iowa. And, if mr. grand larceny could find someone willing to do the job for 1/3 of the money, he would be a miracle man.

@bodacious-sorry, she is way overpaid based on the number of students in the district and compared to other superintendents. This school system has pretty much had a blank check and have abused the hell out of it.

Remember, its’ for the kids. That’s the chant one usually hears when it comes to teachers, school bonds, PPEL’s etc. If she worked 365 days a year, could anyone afford her?

This shows that school board elections are important too. Maybe more than some city council elections as some schools may have bigger budgets than some cities do.

Yeah this is obscene. Our family has joined the chorus calling for her to be ousted, or for her salary to be cut in half if not cut into a third.

1000.00 dollars a day and does not even live in the county
