NEW YORK CITY – In a major loss for NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, a 4-game suspension leveled against Patriots quarterback Tom Brady has been thrown out by a federal judge.
The ruling clears the way for Brady – one of the leagues best and most-decorated quarterbacks – to start in the week one game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. The NFL will appeal the ruling.
Brady had been suspended by Goodell for his alleged role in deflating footballs during a game last season against the Indianapolis Colts.
