Good day.
I don’t know if you have a social media policy, but I wonder if perhaps you need one.
I highly doubt that having no consequences for your well-paid city employees who call your law-abiding, tax-paying, business-owning citizens filthy names is good for business at city hall. Is this part of the “Decorum, Discipline, Diligence” gibberish we were sold?
This is the second time this employee has called me names; people know who she’s talking about because it was sent straight to me; I have no connection with Tricia Sandahl via social media. Coupled with the other actions used against me by some associated with city hall (which I have alerted police and others to), I am less than thrilled with my treatment. Perhaps this employee feels emboldened because some of you don’t like how I make a living, and she knows it’s OK to attack Matt Marquardt, since some of you have already done so?
See the attached graphic which was provided to me. I’d like to know what, if any, actions will be taken in regards to this.

She is a typical pubic servant who thinks their the boss and we could not survive without them and their cushy salary and bennies – example that chicago retard stuffing his pockets before retirement. Completely worthless and of no human value – Quote Johnny Cash and you can take that to the bank -but better yet put in in your pocket because we know what banksters are.
Awful.
The character of the organization is reflected in their employees.
This lady that shot her mouth off online showed she has a low moral character. She is reflecting the Mayor’s and City Administrator’s character. They have both displayed this type of behaviour many times in the past.
We have also seen this same behaviour from Chamber Of Commerce officials and Country Club elitists.
Birds of a feather all flock together.

I am really glad that everyone on here is so big and brave when hiding behind their keyboard. I am so glad I had already been educated before I moved to Mason City, and didn’t suffer like those of you commenting here. I am also very glad that I now live in a part of the country where things actually happen, and there are things to do. Also glad that we have real journalists, and real news outlets.
This is tame. Normally much more name calling. Freedom of speech is welcomed here, unless you call somebody out for acting like a child. Then it is unprofessional and uncalled for. Not unlike a reporter,blogger,or photographer using flash photography when it is prohibited.
“Prohibited”. That’s rich. Just another attempt to get in the way of NIT covering the news. By the way, Bobby Fisher and his man-pal Skipper were completely absent Tuesday night. You’re lucky NIT was there to clue you in on everything.
I think this whole blue zone thing is a bunch of crap. Her getting the extra 21k is absurd. So reporting on that, thank you. Reporting on somebody’s Facebook post, petty.

Was she on the city’s clock at the time of the post? If so she should be disciplined. If not its very unprofessional, poor judgement and her right to talk trash. Either way she looses IMHO
It doesn’t reflect well on a city when their employees act unprofessional. A lot of employers do internet searches on applicants now. I tell my kids to try not to post stupid stuff.
Let’s see, in a vast majority of Marquardt’s diatribes, he has used a plethora of derogatory names, disparaging comments and snide innuendo against many people.
But when someone calls him out, he folds like a deck of cards and goes whining & crying like a little school girl.
Pathetic.
Grow a pair Marquardt and put on your big boy pants.
Maybe if people don’t act childish, they will not be called names and get their feelings hurt by childish name callers. Now please go on and defend the first amendment as it pertains to NIT.

At the very least she owes Matt a official apology. I can just hear her bosses laughing over this when it happened. It is not so funny when it becomes public.
I hope the city doesn’t discipline an employee for this. She had no right to make such a comment for you using flash photography which is none of her business. She does need a talking to so she can be reminded she is just an employee.

You can bet that if it were a sanitation or park department worker that had made that comment, there would be consequences. People complain about the labor force all the time, and call for them to be fired. Seems like the house cleaning should start at the top. No matter how angry a tax payer makes you, as a public servant you are not to make comments like that.
She never named the elitist. The problem with elitists is that they never think rules apply to them. We can’t expect our city officials to monitor somebody’s overtime; when they can’t stop flash photography.
Wow if I did that with a customer and worse yet people could figure out the customer I was talking about I’d be so fired.
