OSAGE – Following a burglary investigation by the Osage Police Department, multiple felony charges were filed on two Osage residents.

Codie Smith, 27 years old and Samantha Hanson, 24 years old were both charged with Ongoing Criminal Conduct-Class B Felony, Burglary 2nd Degree-Class C Felony, Burglary 3rd Degree, Theft 2nd Degree, Conspiracy, and Possession of Stolen Property –all Class D Felonies. Hanson is being held at the Mitchell County Jail and Smith is awaiting transfer from the Cerro Gordo County Jail. This is an ongoing investigation.

The Osage Police Department was assisted in this investigation by Rochester Police Department and Mower County Sheriff’s Office.

The Osage Police Department do not believe these subjects were responsible for all of the burglaries that have recently occurred within the City. We encourage all residents to keep diligent in locking their homes, garages and vehicles and to report any suspicious activity.

All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
