One dead from gunfire after dispute in Minneapolis

MINNEAPOLIS – At least two people were shot and one died after a dispute in Minneapolis early Monday.

Calls to 9-1-1 came into the dispatch center shortly after midnight with reports of gunfire in the area of North 34th Avenue and North Morgan Avenue. Squads arrived and found one deceased adult male near the intersection.

The preliminary investigation indicates the occupants of two vehicles were in the midst of a dispute. They pulled over at 34th and Morgan and it’s believed that some of the occupants got out of both vehicles and exchanged shots at each other.

The two vehicles were gone when officers arrived. A short time later, officers were advised that a privately owned vehicle transported another adult male shooting victim to North Memorial who we believe was also related to this scene. His wounds are non-life threatening.

The medical examiner will release the name of the deceased and the cause of death following an autopsy.
