Two arrested after man enters Mason City house and assaults four people

MASON CITY – A man was arrested after he entered a Mason City home and attacked at least four people, and during an investigation into that crime, a wanted Mason City woman was located by police.

Mason City police said Sunday that at about 3:00 AM Saturday morning, July 4, officers were dispatched to 549 11th Street Northeast in Mason City on a report of an assault that had just taken place. Upon officers’ arrival, they were informed that 25-year-old Jonathan Lamar Green of Mason City had entered the house and assaulted a person that lives there. Other subjects inside the residence attempted to stop the assault and Green assaulted them as well, police said.

After an investigation, Green was arrested and charged with four counts of serious assault, a serious misdemeanor, and one count a first degree burglary, a class B felony. He was taken to the county jail and held on $25,000 cash-only bond.

No one sought medical attention for their injuries, police said.

Officers also located and arrested a wanted Mason City woman, 23-year-old Jennifer Nicole Sanchez, who was wanted on a warrant for probation violation in reference to three separate counts of assault. Sanchez was also facing a charge of aggravated misdemeanor accessory to a felony, but the charge has been amended to interference with official acts. She will be in court on the afternoon of July 6, and has already been released from jail.
