FOREST CITY – Forest City Parks and Recreation announced that Winnebago Outdoor, the brand that celebrates the heritage of Winnebago RV lifestyle with apparel, gifts, and gear, has signed on as the title sponsor for the 5th annual Winnebago Outdoor Adventure Race Saturday, June 6th. Participants will utilize three local trails while canoeing/kayaking, biking, and running.
“It is our goal to grow the race and showcase the outdoor opportunities in Forest City,” said Winnebago’s Director of Marketing Chad Reece. “As a company, we also feel our products are a great fit for those with an active, outdoor lifestyle.”
The race begins at 8:30 am at Ambroson Recreation Area (Hwy 69, 4 miles north of Forest City or 1 mile south of Leland). From there, participants will canoe or kayak 7 miles to Pammel Park down the Winnebago River. At this point, an athlete, or team member, will bike 12 miles in a loop though Pilot Knob State Park. Finally, participants will finish the race with a 5K run along the Hynes Spur Trail.
A t-shirt, meal and goodie bag are included in participants’ registrations. Motorhomes will be on display for spectators and participants to view the day of the race. Packet pick-up will be Friday, June 5th from 6-7 pm at Riverview Restaurant on Hwy 69 S in Forest City. Pasta will also be available during this time.

Spectators are welcome. The transition area located in Pammel Park is a fun place to watch and cheer on athletes. If you know someone in the race, or are curious about why athletes canoe, bike and run in this event, come to Pammel Park on Saturday morning, June 6th.
