MASON CITY – Families interested in improving their diets can register for and attend a class to be held Wednesday in Mason City.
The Cerro Gordo County Department of Public Health is offering L.E.A.N. (Lifestyle-Exercise-Attitude-Nutrition) Essentials, a child and family nutrition class designed to equip parents, grandparents, and childcare providers with nutrition skills and knowledge to raise healthy children and families. The class is scheduled for Thursday, May 28th from 5-7 PM at the Cerro Gordo County Department of Public Health in Mohawk Square. L.E.A.N. Essentials is a FREE two hour workshop featuring hands-on activities focused on nutrition topics such as:
Healthy Fats
Brainy Breakfasts
Importance of Water
Growing Strong with Protein
And much more…
In addition, participants will receive a L.E.A.N. Activity workbook to help reinforce the skills learned in the workshop at home with the family. A light meal will be served at the training.
Residents are asked to register by contacting Public Health at 641-421-9300 or email wellness@cghealth.com no later than Wednesday, May 27th. Training credits for childcare providers are also available.
