MASON CITY – A Mason City woman was arrested this weekend for public intoxication and interfering with officers.

A Cerro Gordo deputy responded to a disturbance in the 000 block of South Delaware Avenue Saturday morning at about 12:29 AM. After an investigation, the deputy arrested 20-year-old Gabrielle Jade Marie Young of Mason City on a charge of public intoxication, interference with official acts and underage consumption. She was jailed, processed and later released pending a court date.

Earlier this year, Young had a charge of child endangerment dismissed, and was given a deferred judgement with a year of probation for domestic abuse assault and assault. In that case, Young had been arrested in July of 2014, when police alleged that during the course of an assault, Young allegedly and intentionally struck a woman’s vehicle with her vehicle and that at that time Young’s one month old child was in the car with her. Young then left the scene and was later arrested. She was later also charged with third degree criminal mischief, to which she pled guilty and was fined and ordered to pay 783.16 in restitution.
